Miami, Beach, FL – March 2024

I am excited to invite you to join me for the Women’s Self-compassion and Yoga Retreat: Friday, March 15th, 2024, to Sunday, March 17th, 2024.

Miami, Florida!!!

This retreat includes:

  • Food and lodging
  • Six Meals
  • Four yoga and four meditation practices
  • Guided mindfulness hikes
  • Women’s Circles

What are your fears? How are they preventing you from becoming the best version of yourself? The theme is “Feel the fear and do it anyway,” with the intention of facing your fear and how to overcome it.  If you knew you could handle anything that came your way, what would you possibly have to fear? The answer is nothing. You can handle anything! This retreat is all about your ability to trust a little more in yourself. Why not take a leap of faith in yourself and discover that you can handle anything that life throws at you with just a little more trust in your own ability.

Location:

Oleta River State Park is thirty minutes from downtown Miami, this gorgeous park is bisected by its namesake waterway that winds through a natural oasis. Whether enjoying the 15 miles of off-road bicycling trails or paddling along lush mangrove forests, visitors find it difficult to believe that Oleta River State Park exists 30 minutes from downtown Miami. At just over a thousand acres, this natural oasis — Florida’s largest urban park — is a haven for mountain bikers, paddlers, anglers, and swimmers.

You will gain:

  • Experience Self-compassion and Self-confidence
  • Trust in your ability
  • Practice Self-discovery
  • Build stronger relationships with other women, nature, and yourself
  • Find and reconnect with yourself again

Our retreat will begin with an evening Yin Yoga class on Friday, March 15th, 2024 at 5 PM.  Check into the Oleta River State Park (Oleta River State Park | Florida State Parks) as early as 3 PM. Arrive by 4:30 PM so you can get settled in before yoga class.

Yoga and Meditation Classes:

Yoga classes are all levels appropriate.  These practices are intended to meet your body at its current phase.  You’ll learn more about the poses, and subtleties within the shapes, breathwork, meditation, and the limbs of yoga.  Yoga classes will take place outside surrounded by the stunning natural environment.

  • Friday @ 5 PM – 90-minute Yin Yoga class focused on strengthening your lower back and hip opening.
  • Saturday @ 7 AM – 60-minute Vinyasa Flow class focused on full body strength and flexibility.
  • Saturday @ 4 PM – 60-minute Yin/Vinyasa Flow class focused on relieving stress.
  • Sunday @ 8 AM – 60-minute Yin Yoga class focused on improving your digestion.

Take ownership of your experience:

Each day will include some free time for individual adventures, exploring and settling in.  Since this is a three-day retreat, we don’t want to overwhelm you with too many activities.  The intention is to slow down, be still, and reflect.  On Friday and Sunday, we will have Women’s Circle, on Saturday we will have a workshop and on Sunday we have the closing ceremony.

Women’s Circle: “Self-compassion – Beginning a new”

The intention of this retreat is to focus on self-discovery and self-awareness, which includes self-compassion, self-care, and slowing down practice. Let go of any expectations that you have of yourself and others and just accept who you are now. Reconnect with your true self and inner child.

Workshop: Cultivating Curiosity and Resilience”

“Resilience is the ability to overcome adversity.” Brene Brown

I turned 40 years old last October and since then, I have challenged myself to overcome fears that are preventing me from being my best self. My first fear that I wanted to overcome was running a half marathon. I was not a runner and I didn’t know a lot about running. I knew that one of my core values was health and well-being. One of my good friends sent me a link to enroll for the Rose Bowl Half Marathon was January 15th, 2023. I thought that was my opportunity to face my fear of failure. I started training by running twice a week, working out at Orange Theory twice a week, and Yoga practice twice a week. I joined a running group and set up dates to run with friends to hold me accountable. My only goal was to run the half marathon in less than four hours. During my race, I was scared, nervous, and was not sure if I was going to make it under my time mark. My friend, Katie, challenged me and said, “Let’s go under the 12-minute mark line.” I doubted myself and responded, “I don’t think I can do that.” She responded with a hopeful attitude, “We can do this. You got this!” As a result, I surprised myself! I finished the race under the 12-minute mark, and I faced my fear of failure! I felt amazing and unstoppable! I could do anything that I set my mind to. Now, my next fear to face is leading my second Women’s Yoga Retreat in Florida. I challenge you to join me in Miami Beach, FL, and face the fear of the unknown and uncertainty.

Guided Mindfulness Hikes:

You’ll get to meditate while on hikes while surrounded by the fresh ocean breeze and beaches. You’ll get to explore and learn about trails and hikes within the state park.

Mindfulness and Community Service Practices:

We are all searching for a sense of connection and community.  Each day of the retreat, you will be paired up with a new sister to spend time getting to know each other through activities and mindfulness practices.  This community support and team building allows you to connect with like-minded women, yourself, and to gain a feeling of accomplishment by getting something done and giving back to your sisters and your community.  As a result, you’ll improve your communication and team-building skills, self-awareness, and confidence.  You’ll get to express your gratitude and appreciation through prepping, cleaning, washing, and cooking during mealtimes and throughout our practice together.  Thank you so much for committing to a clean and safe space for our practice together.

Food: “All are welcome – Vegan, Vegetarian, and Meat Friendly”

Your belly and your thirst will be well taken care of all weekend because no one wants a hangry belly.  The retreat includes Brunch and Dinner, which includes six meals throughout the four days.

Feel free to bring your favorite beverages and snacks either for yourself or to share.  From Yenly’s experience, she noticed quick bonding and friendships when you share food and drinks.  In her culture, food brings people together (sharing is caring).

While cabins have no kitchens or bathrooms, a restroom with hot showers is located nearby. For your ultimate relaxation, televisions, and phones are not provided.
